With Heavy Hearts- The passing of Officer Jared Lindsey

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of one of Tulsa Police Department's finest officers and friend of the community and Tulsa 9.12 Project. Officer Jared Lindsey passed away earlier today from complications of COVID-19.

"Tulsa lost a hero today," stated Ronda Vuillemont-Smith, Tulsa 9.12 Project president. "We are saddened by the loss of Officer Jared LIndsey. His love for our community and the officers that serve our community knew no bounds. His legacy was his commitment to preserving the rights of our police officers and upholding the integrity of the department, paving the way for better policing and community involvement, helping make Tulsa Police Department one of the best in the nation. Jared will be missed by all that knew him."

Passing of Tulsa Police Department Officer Jerad Lindsey

It is with a heavy heart that the Tulsa Police Department confirms the passing of one of our active duty officers. This morning, October 28, 2020, Officer Jerad Lindsey passed due to complications from COVID-19.

Officer Jerad Lindsey started his career with the Tulsa Police Department March 2nd, 2005. During his career, Jared worked as patrol officer and at the time of his passing he was the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Oklahoma Fraternal Order of Police Vice President. Jerad’s work with the Fraternal Order of Police on the National, State and Local level was done with sincerity and a commitment to the rights of all those wearing the police uniform.

Officer Jerad Lindsey was 40 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by his spouse Jennifer and the two young sons. We ask all media to please respect the family’s privacy and allow them time to mourn. The Tulsa Police Department will work in conjunction with the Fraternal Order of Police and Ofc. Lindsey’s family regarding additional details.
