Tulsa 9.12 Project Sept ‘25 Meeting

Tulsa 9.12 September Meeting - CHANGE

Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols, originally scheduled to speak at our September meeting has requested to be rescheduled due to a conflict. When we spoke, we both agreed that we didn't want to push the date out too far and decided that Tulsa 9.12 would check on moving the date and possibly moving to a larger location within the building to accommodate more people. We have made the request and are awaiting confirmation.

Request from Mayor Monroe Nichols:

Hey Ronda -

I'm sending a note to request a scheduling change for the my time with you all. Currently, I am scheduled for Sept. 11, but I now have a commitment with the Oklahoma Municipal League in Oklahoma City that evening that I was just made aware of. Your Oct. 9th meeting time is also tough for me because my son Gavin has a football game that night and it's senior year so I can't miss it.

I really don't want to push our time back too far, so would it be possible for us to get the 9.12 group together on Oct. 2nd? I'm eager to visit with everyone and so sorry to ask for this change. I appreciate your consideration of the change and I look forward to hearing back. You are free (and I imagine you will take the opportunity) to give me a hard time for this!

Monroe

So for our September meeting we will recognize Constitution Day as well as honor and remember the events of 9/11, the most horrific day in American history. Where were you when the first plane hit the World Trade Center? At what point did it sink in that America was under attack? We vowed to "Never Forget." We must always keep that promise.

Constitution Day, celebrated on September 17, marks a pivotal moment in our American history when delegates to the Constitutional Convention put pen to paper in 1787, crafting the very framework that empowers us as citizens! As we gear up for the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence next year, let's take a moment to reflect on how these monumental documents not only separated us from Great Britain but also gifted us the freedoms we cherish today. It’s time to dive deeper into the significance of the Constitution, which guarantees our rights, structures our government, and, most importantly, places the power right in our hands!

We will also have Tulsa 9.12 exclusive - Constitutional Moment presented by David Oldham and a briefing on what was happening 250 years ago leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. September's meeting will be an interesting, educating and enlightening experience.

Who Should Attend: Voters, civic-minded neighbors, local leaders—everyone interested in our shared future.

Come ready to learn, ask, and be heard. Bring a friend!
