Governor Fallin has called for a second special session to begin December 18, after vetoing the budget "fix" she agreed to during the first special session to fix the cigarette tax, passed by the legislature in the final week of session and ruled unconstitutional by the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Calling for the second special session the week before Christmas is a bully move by the governor to try to strong-arm the legislature to raise taxes. We must remain vigilant and stand with legislators that demand accountability and transparency in the budget process, who are demanding audits before the consideration of raising taxes on the good citizens of Oklahoma.
